say no! ist der übergeordnete Titel des Schlachthoffestival Traunsee 2024, welches im Zuge der Kulturhauptstadt Europas Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 vom 31. Mai bis zum 2. Juni 2024 stattfindet. Was steckt aber hinter dieser Thematik? Neinsagen als ein emanzipatorischer und selbstschützender Akt ist ein nicht wegzudenkender Teil der zwischenmenschlichen Kommunikation. Neinsagen muss gelernt sein, es braucht Überwindung, Mut und eine Auseinandersetzung mit den eigenen, individuellen Grenzen. Neinsagen kann eine rebellische Handlung des Widerstandes sein und vielleicht sogar der erste Schritt hin zu einer Utopie.
Das Schlachthoffestival Traunsee Team freut sich über deine Einreichung, in der du dich mit dieser Thematik künstlerisch-kritisch auseinandersetzt. Die Einreichung muss noch keine abgeschlossene künstlerische Arbeit beinhalten – wir freuen uns sehr über erste Konzeptideen. Der Umsetzung sind keine Grenzen gesetzt: Wir sind auf der Suche nach künstlerischen Beiträgen aus den Bereichen Bildende Kunst, Literatur, Performance, Theater und Musik.
Gut zu wissen – Hardfacts
Wir bieten dir eine einzigartige Ausstellungssituation an: den aktiven Gruber-Schlachthof in Traunkirchen. Das Festival wird sich über drei Tage erstrecken, weshalb wir den Ausstellenden eine Unterkunft zur Verfügung stellen werden. Zudem erwarten dich viele Momente, in denen du dich mit anderen austauschen kannst. Was erwarten wir von dir? Als Ausstellende*r bist du automatisch Teil eines Netzwerks, das das Festival gemeinsam mitträgt. Wir kochen, leben, helfen die drei Tage zusammen. Mit unserem Schlachthoffestival wollen wir eine Plattform schaffen, wo nachhaltiger Austausch entstehen kann und Freundschaften auch nach den drei Ausstellungstagen bestehen bleiben – wir wünschen uns also, dass die Bewerber*innen bereit sind, sich ganz auf diese gemeinsame Erfahrung einzulassen.

is the overarching title of Schlachthoffestival Traunsee 2024, which will take place from the 31st of May till the 2nd of June 2024 as part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024. But what idea is behind this theme? Saying no as an emancipatory and self-protective act is an indispensable part of interpersonal communication. Saying no has to be learned, it takes effort, courage and a confrontation with one’s own individual boundaries. Saying no can be a rebellious act of resistance and perhaps even the first step towards a utopia.
The Schlachthoffestival Traunsee team is looking forward to your submission, in which you deal with this topic in an artistic-critical way. The submission does not have to include a completed artistic work – we are very happy to receive conceptual ideas. There are no limits to the genre: we are looking for artistic contributions from the fields of visual arts, literature, performance, theater and music.
Good to know – the hard facts
We offer you a unique exhibition situation: the active Gruber slaughterhouse in Traunkirchen. The festival will take place over the duration of three days, which is why we will provide accommodation for all exhibitors. You can also expect plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas with others. What do we expect from you? As an exhibitor, you are automatically part of a network that supports the festival together. We cook, live and help together for three days. With our Schlachthoffestival, we aim to create a platform where sustainable exchange can be developed and new friendships remain even after the three days of the exhibition – so we hope that applicants are willing to fully engage in this shared experience.
